Costa Adeje is one of the most practical bases for combining relaxation, the ocean and excursions around the south and west of Tenerife. Many sea activities leave from here, and it is easy to organise days out to Teide or Masca. The difficulty is not finding options but telling which ones really suit your group.
Whale watching and boats
The choice includes short trips, catamarans, sailing boats and private formats. Start by comparing whale and dolphin watching and the catamaran excursion. If you value privacy and flexibility, look at the private boat in Tenerife.
Do not choose on price alone. The number of passengers, time at sea, shade on board, environmental policy and accessibility can matter more than an extra hour.
Water activities
Kayaking, snorkelling, paddle surf, jet skis and parasailing are offered at various points along the coast. See the water sports category and filter by age, level, mobility and tolerance of swell. For cliff scenery, the kayak route at Los Gigantes means heading west.
Excursions from Costa Adeje
- Teide: works as a half or full day depending on the cable car, stops and astronomy.
- Masca and Teno: a logical panoramic route from the south, but with many bends.
- La Gomera: set aside the whole day and check the ferry, pick-up and whether lunch is included.
- Anaga and La Laguna: deserve a day of their own because of the distance.
Choose without losing holiday time
